Lui, a theater by Ashkan Khatibi
"Lui" (He)
The latest work by Ashkan Khatibi, a renowned artist in Iranian cinema and theater, is a deeply personal play that serves as a semi-autobiographical reflection. While it tells the artist’s own story, it also captures the experiences of thousands who have endured the harsh realities of censorship and oppression.
The prestigious publisher Baldini & Castoldi published "Lui" in Italy in Persian and Italian. The play enjoyed a highly successful seven-night run in Milan, produced by Teatro Franco Parenti, where it was met with enthusiastic acclaim from audiences.
This compelling performance will be performed in Oslo, Norway, for the first time.
"Lui"
Is an open letter to the free world.
"I have written a work about myself:
torture, abuse, nightmares.
But it could be the story of any artist
who defends the rights of their people.”
